With the awards season barely over, 'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe lands a new role in Laura Linney's Showtime comedy, 'The Big C.' Laura stars as a woman who changes her life after being diagnosed with cancer.

Gabourey will play one of Laura's students, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The show is supposed to be a dark comedy. I am REALLY curious about this show. The fact that people like Laura are involved make me think they've found a way to be respectful while being funny about something so serious.
