Corey Haim's mother, Judy, told Radar Online that Corey had been living with her while she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

"I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I’m devastated by his death."

Judy reportedly was too overcome to say any more after that statement.

TMZ reports that Corey had been sick with "flu-like symptoms" for the last few days. Four prescription bottles were found, but none were related to his illness.

Corey's mother reportedly told authorities that he had been dealing with an addiction to prescription drugs for years.

TMZ reports that no illicit drugs were found in the apartment, and the LAPD suspects this was an accidental overdose. It sounds similar to what happened to Brittany Murphy.

I can't even imagine what his mother must be going through. My sincere condolences to her and the rest of Corey's family.
