On how J.J. Abrams picked the right moment to tell him he’d been killed off Lost:

"I was in wine country, man, with a beautiful girl. I said to J.J., 'Your timing is impeccable. If I'd been at a Denny's I would have started crying.' I downed a couple of bottles of Pinot and I was set."

On being accosted in airports by obsessed fans of both 'Lost' and the 'Vampire Diaries':

"The decibel level at which a 13-year-old can explain how much she loves you—it's the coolest thing ever."

LOL- teenage girls can be very loud.
