I know how I feel when someone asks me if I’m pregnant (ahem – GRANDMA!). It makes me feel like I am over-weight! That usually happens once in a blue moon. Now imagine getting asked on a weekly basis by a variety of sources. Poor Mariah Carey!!

How many YEARS has she been denying a pregnancy? Wonder if it gets to her?

Earlier in the week, the singer was photographed out with Nick Cannon and it supposedly sparked speculation. The singer’s rep released an official statement confirming that she is “not pregnant.”

Today Nick Cannon was in NYC at PepsiCo Feed America Volunteer Day event. He took a few minutes to chat about the way that he and Mariah Carey plan to spend their third anniversary:

We get married every year! That’s our thing,” Cannon explained to UsMagazine.com “So it’s going to be our third wedding this year. That’s what we’ll be doing on the actual [anniversary]…We’ll do something…A party or event, just to celebrate.”

Even though Mariah’s engagement ring is a rock reportedly worth $2.5 million, Nick buys Mariah a new ring each year to commemorate the occasion:

“That’s totally right,” he said. “This is the third ring I have to buy…It’ll be something different. Something good.”

“It’s nice,” Cannon gushed. “We like being married every year.”

Last night the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards were held, and ‘Precious’ was the big winner, which won for best feature, best director (Lee Daniels), best screenplay (Geoffrey Fletcher), best female lead (Gabourey Sidibe), and best supporting female (Mo’Nique). Congratulations!

I’m glad ‘Precious’ got recognized here; something tells me it may not do so well Sunday night at the Academy Awards.

The video for Mariah Carey’s new single featuring Nicki Minaj has just come out. Have a look at ‘Up Out My Face‘ and let me know what you think.

Rumors are floating around today that music mogul Tommy Mottola, also know as Mariah Carey’s ex-husband, is being considered to take over Simon Cowell’s chair on ‘American Idol’.

An inside source says:

“Both X Factor and Idol are interested in working with Tommy,” the source said. “Nothing has been decided but they are talking. He’s a shrewd negotiator and a legendary music impresario who has a great ear and instinctively knows talent. He is the perfect person for something like this.”

Another “Idol” source claims that a replacement has not yet been found:

“No one has been offered a judging [position] on American Idol yet and there are no front-runners either. They have a lot of time to go over their options.”

Tommy is responsible for discovering talent like Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, and many others while he was an executive head at Sony Music Entertainment. He’s currently married to Mexican pop star Thalia.

He would make an interesting choice, wouldn’t he? I’m guessing they would have to forget Mariah doing any guest appearances?

Remember Mariah Carey’s Golden Globes dress? With the really, um, low-cut neckline? Well, Mariah doesn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

“I dressed very conservatively,” Mariah said of her fashion choice.

“My dress was long and my shoulders were covered. I don’t know what all the fuss is about.”

Conservative? Subtle? Seriously? I mean, I’ve seen more revealing dresses at awards ceremonies, but I wouldn’t call Mariah’s dress conservative. What do you think?

Mariah Carey felt ugly growing up because she was mixed race.

The ‘Hero’ singer – whose mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent – claims she never fitted in at school because of her heritage, leaving her very insecure about the way she looks.

“I am very insecure about my looks, and I always have been because of being mixed race. It’s not so weird now, and everyone’s accepting it in a big way, but as a child I felt very, um, out of place and didn’t feel pretty.

“When you grow up with that type of insecurity you don’t always feel pretty.”

Mariah began to realize she was different from other children when she took her best friend on one of her weekly visits to see her father. She told Observer Woman Magazine:

“She got out of the car and went up the stairs to his house and he was over 6ft tall and very handsome, but to her he must have really been scary because I don’t know that she’d ever seen a black man before. And she looked at him, her mouth went open and she started screaming and crying.

“I think he was trying to make me feel better and calm her down, but it didn’t work. You never know what people say in their houses about different races. So my mother took her home and I went up the stairs with my father.”

What an experience! Oh my goodness. That is something you most certainly will never forget. Wonder if Mariah kept up with that friendship after that day?
