Last night was the Academy of Country Music Awards. Reba McEntire didn’t hold back, poking fun at some people who’ve been making big headlines recently.

“I’d like to thank Tiger Woods and Jesse James for inspiring us all,” she said. Later she noted that the show was going green—all paper used for the show was “made from recycled Larry King divorce papers.”

Taylor Swift wasn’t a big winner last night: Carrie Underwood again won for Entertainer of the Year, and Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert won three awards apiece. But Taylor’s won plenty of awards, right?

Plenty of country music stars walked the red carpet, including: LeAnn Rimes with Eddie Cibrian, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire, Kristen Bell, Julianne Hough, Miranda Lambert, Camila Alves with Matthew McConaughey, Trace Atkins, Jewel, Gretchen Wilson, Taylor, and Hilary Scott.

What a concert! You can feel the energy Taylor Swift had as she performed on stage at The U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati by looking at these pictures. You can tell this girl really loves her job and is enjoying every moment of life right now.

Fun!! Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were seen bowling with a group of friends at Pinz Bowling in Studio City. The group looked like they were having a blast. Must have been exciting for teens who were bowling in the lanes besides them.

Taylor Swift did a photoshoot and talked to Elle magazine about attention from the media, her fears, and her revealing song lyrics.

About media scrutiny:

“I’ve had countless opportunities to do some really bad things. And then people start combing through everything I do trying to find the next mistake and misperception, which leads to more scrutiny. Like, if I go to a bar, even if I’m not drinking, who’s to say that a source isn’t going to say that I was doing something I shouldn’t have been doing? So it’s not only about your own moral compass, but the moral compasses of other people that you don’t know.”

About using material from her romantic relationships for her music:

“I like to categorize the various levels of heartbreak. I’ve only had that happen once. A letdown is worth a few songs. A heartbreak is worth a few albums.”

Taylor Swift is “obsessed” with number 13. She’s even thinking about getting a tattoo placed on her arm… but her family is desperately trying to talk her out of it. A source told gossip website Absolute Now:

“Taylor has this weird connection with the number 13 which goes back to when she was a kid. It’s her lucky number. Every time she has won an award she has sat in seat number 13, and the number keeps cropping up in good times for her.

“She was even going to get a tattoo on her arm but her folks have stepped in and convinced her it could be kind of unlucky for her look.”

Do you think if Taylor got a tattoo it would be bad for her image? It’s not like she is getting skull and bones etched on her forehead. I doubt it would have any effect on her career.

Taylor Swift’s tweet last night landed her some words of gentle criticism from Australian wildlife authorities. She’s currently on tour and visited a Melbourne park after her show last night.

She shared on Twitter:

Tonight the band and I played a show, then hopped in the van and headed to the park for some midnight wild possum feeding.

A spokesperson for Australia’s Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) told Radar Online:

“We know people who feed wild animals often have the best intentions and that it is attractive to tourists who want to interact with Australian wildlife.
“However, DSE advises people not to feed wild animals… it can disrupt their natural behaviour and it can cause some animals to lose their natural fear of people, making them vulnerable to attack.”

I’m sure Taylor didn’t mean any harm. Who knows, she might have just been joking about the feeding completely, right?

‘Valentine’s Day’ director Garry Marshall told E! News’ Marc Malkin he saw Taylor Lautner’s and Taylor Swift’s romance blossom right before his eyes on set.

“I always start with the kissing scenes,” director Garry Marshall told [Marc Malkin]… “The first thing they did was kiss.

“The first three were nice. By the fourth I think they started going together. I don’t what the hell happened, but somewhere in the fifth or sixth take they were dating.”

At the Taylors’ ages, I can understand that- LOL.

Can you imagine just starting to work with someone and starting out with the kissing scenes? I guess it makes sense, though; the actors don’t stew in nervous anticipation if they get it out of the way up front

This story would’ve been even more amusing if the Taylors were still together, but oh well. (And if you’re wondering why Taylor Swift wasn’t there, it’s because she’s on tour in Australia.)

Garry also confirmed that there are plans for a ‘Valentine’s Day’ sequel that will center on New Year’s Eve, and he’s already signed on to direct.

“They’re making me the holiday director,” Marshall cracked. “I’m also going to do Flag Day [and] Arbor Day. Now, for all the holidays, I’ll be doing something.”

Hmmm… it could be good, depending on what the stories are. I like these ensemble movies. How about you?

I’m going to comfort myself with the idea that this interview means Taylor Swift is NOT dating John Mayer. She recently said she’s looking for a tall, funny guy. And when Taylor says tall, she means a guy who’s taller than her (and she’s 5′ 11″ tall).

“The bad thing about being tall is the majority of people are at a different eye level than you, and so you feel like you’re looking down to talk to people, which is kind of unnatural – looking down to talk to people, and they have to look way up to talk to you.

“It just depends on what group of people you’re around. If there are a few scattered tall people in the room or in the group of people that you’re talking to, it’s not awkward at all. But if you’re around a bunch of little, mini-people and you’re the only giant in the circle, it can be kind of interesting.”

Makes sense to me

Yet Taylor also wants a guy who’s funny.

“Somebody who has a compatible sense of humor with me, that would be the most important thing.”

Taylor just may have found a match, if ‘Boys Like Girls’ lead singer Martin Johnson has his way. They did the duet ‘Two is Better than One’ together, and here’s how he described Taylor:

“Taylor Swift is the perfect human being. She’s great. She’s such a nice, wholehearted, sweet girl, and she’s the biggest superstar in the world. My mom would be stoked if I brought her home.”

Taylor Swift’s live performance at the Grammy’s has come under fire this week by several critics and fans alike for being “off-pitch”. So, the head of her record label, Scott Borchetta, released a statement defending her. But Kelly Clarkson wasn’t too happy with the “dig” at ‘American Idol’.

Scott’s statement:

“She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to [her fans], and they speak directly back to her,” Scott Borchetta, CEO of Big Machine Records, told The Associated Press. “This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”

Unfortunately, on one of the biggest stages, we did have a technical issue. She couldn’t hear herself like she had in rehearsal.”

As a former American Idol, Kelly Clarkson took offense to the jab at the show’s contestants. She took to her blog and addressed Mr. Borchetta:

Wow … Dear Scott Borchetta,

I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’. Thank you for that ‘Captain Obvious’ sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is “I’ll kick butt next time” or “every performance isn’t going to be perfect” ……I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.

Taylor Swift also didn’t forget to leave her mark as she won a Grammy Award for the “Album of the Year” category at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on January 31 and guess what… the teenage sensation seemed quite shocked at her accomplishment.

She said,”Ahh, this is album of the year. Oh wow! Thank you so much. I just hope that you know how much this means to me – that we get to take this back to Nashville. This is for my dad. Thank you for all those times you said I could do whatever I wanted in life. And to my mom, you’re my best friend.”

Taylor was nominated for a total of 8 grammy awards, out of which she won the three grammy awards for Best Country Song, Best Country Album and Album of the Year.
